Weird "discount" message

I'm trying to set up a "buy X, get Y free" discount, but the discount message is only showing up on the Cart page and I can't work out where to get rid of the "by adding it to the cart" phrase at the end of the discount message....

I'd really appreciate some help with this... thanks!!

if they add product Y to the cart, they get it free.
