    Product Search not finding anything ...

    Hi,

    When i try my Product Search, at;

    http://www.esafetysigns.co.uk/acatalog/search.html

    I enter a keyword like

    EYE or eye or eYe

    and I get the default No products found, whether I tick "all" or "containing" ?

    However if you look at my Site Map;

    http://www.esafetysigns.co.uk/acatalog/sitemap.html

    I have loads of Products with eye ? aaih!

    Any ideas ?

    Also, whats the "Can't find Products..." template called, its missing its header ?

    Thanks, Simon.

    The Site Map contains a list of the Section names. Actinic only indexes Product Names and Product Descriptions. So if "eye" doesn't appear there it won't be found.

      Norm,

      Spot on!
      Renamed products accordingly, works a treat.

      Q1. Now, what would be really nice is to have a thumbnail of the product in the table. How is this done ?

      Q2. Do you now which "Can't find products .... "template is ?

      Thanks, Simon.

        Q1. If you mean a thumbnail in the Search Results then that is possible. Simply put an image into the Product Details / General / Thumbnail field; and in View / Search Settings / Results, check "Product Image".

        Q2. No idea. Someone else perhaps.

          Looking good.

          The layout of the fields could be sorted a bit, especially having included an image, do you now which template organises the search result records layout ?

          Thanks, S.

              Act_ResultsTemplate.html hasn;t made any difference to my results.... however I agree the name feels right ?

              Does anyone else know which template formats the Search Results listings ?

              Also,

              Still not having any joy with the "Can't find Products..." template... does anyone know what its called, it has no header at the mo ?

              Thanks, S.

                Act_ResultsTemplate.html is the one you want. This part:
                <Actinic:SEARCH_RESULTS>
                <Actinic:S_ITEM/>.
                <Actinic:XMLTEMPLATE NAME="ImageLine">
                <IMG SRC="NETQUOTEVAR:THUMBNAIL" NETQUOTEVAR:THUMBNAILSIZE>
                </Actinic:XMLTEMPLATE>
                <Actinic:S_LINK/><B><Actinic:S_PNAME/></B></A> <Actinic:S_SNAME/> <Actinic:S_PRICE/> <BR>
                <Actinic:S_DESCR/><BR>
                <Actinic:S_PROP/><P>
                </Actinic:SEARCH_RESULTS>
                formats the individal results.

                With regards to the 'no products found' message, the overall layout template that formats that is, rather surreally, the template that is set for 'Checkout pages layout' in 'Design | Options | Sections'.

                    They match up with the settings in View / Search Settings / Results / Display Options.
