Referrers?

Can someone please explain the following that I notice in my usage stats referrer listings.

There are a number of https: addresses constructed in the following manner:

https://unknowndomain.com/actalog/one_of_my_pages

Each domain has a listing for a number of different pages and when I fire into it, my page of that filename appears exactly as the current page but under the other domain.

Some of them are quite high up the referrer list.

Should I be concerned?

Have you exchanged referrer links with any of the sites that appear in the logs, or have a referrer program of some kind running?

Nope. Never heard of them.

They seem to be perfectly legit sites. I do not appear in their links/resources page. An assortment of my files just seem to be on their url with https.

For example:

https://www.ethnicelements.co.uk/aca...ead_Valve.html

https://www.puritybrewing.com/acatalog/Quantum.html

Of course, having now pasted these from my logs they don't work so I take it the files have been deleted.


Could these files be temporarily placed on these url's during spidering or such?

It seems to happen regularly with different urls. Each months logs has a few on the first page.
