    Problem when loggin in

Can't log in to Actinic V7 at the moment, whenever I try I get the following....

    (can anyone help please?)

Actinic failed to open the database DSN=ActinicCatalog7.
The database may be corrupt or the version may be newer than expected.
    This prevents Actinic working.

    The error was:

Cannot open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
    Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

and when I click ok the following........

Your system isn't configured correctly and Actinic cannot function. This is normally caused by the database components currently installed, and is acknowledged by Microsoft as a problem (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/te...edistmdac.htm).

In most cases it can be corrected by installing the latest copy (at least version 2.1.2.4202.3) of "Microsoft Data Access Components" or "MDAC" which can be downloaded from Microsoft. MDAC 2.6 is also supplied on the on Catalog install CD. If need to download it from Microsoft, click on the first link below to open your browser at the relevant page, and then follow the appropriate links.

After installing the new version of MDAC you may have to uninstall and then reinstall Actinic to obtain full functionality.

    Hi there

It's worth trying what the error message recommends. Your installation CD should be a file called mdac_typ.exe. Try closing all applications and then running this file.

Also, might you have accidentaly upgraded the database to Access 2003 by opening it in Access and choosing to upgrade it?

ok found a solution for anyone else who gets this. take the "ActinicCatalog.mdb" file out of your site one folder. Then find the file "previous.mdb" and rename to ActinicCatalog.mdb once you open actinic your files will be restored to your last shut down

          cheers for everyones help!
