    Showing VAT on customer reciept.

I've had a client get in touch with me who has had a website with us for over a year but have recently been told by the tax man that on customers reciepts they have to show the amount of VAT that they are charging the customers.

So this means that on their actinic receipts and invoices to clients they have to show the price before and after VAT.

is their anyway in which I can edit the receipt template and show the price before and after VAT.

(Im not sure if this is new legislation or whether it just applies to his industry as he sells wine to clients in bulk).

    Any help would be appreciated.
Hope is a good thing, Not a bad thing, Maybe the best of things.

    Hi Andy,

My understanding is that VAT amount must be shown for sales over £250. Otherwise just percentage. Crystal Reports is required to edit the invoices!!

Are you talking old invoices, or from now on

If from now on then to show VAT on all invoices you need to turn it on by going to Design | business settings then clicking on the TAX tab and selecting either simple or advanced.

You will need to update all the prices on your site to be Nett, if you have a large amount of products the easiest way is to change them in excel by opening the database in access, copying the column to excel running a calculation to give nett the copy the colunm back to access.

      hope this helps a bit

      Cheers
      Darren
