Login redirect to section (without ticking request login)

    Hi
Is it possible to login, then redirect to the section the customer was viewing before logging in ?

We do not want to tick 'Request Login on Shop Entry' in 'Business Settings | Ordering'.

    Thank you

When using a default v7 theme, when I click the login button on a section page and then log in, I am taken back to the page I was viewing before. Does this not happen on your site then? Can I see a URL perhaps?

      Hi
      Thanks, please try
      http://www.worldofpower.co.uk/acatalog/garden.html
Then login with : username: test, password: test.

The login always goes back to the Main Page, which we do not want!
We desperately need it to re-direct back to the section it came from.

I think it's because we do not want to use 'request login on shop entry'

I've contacted Actinic Support, and so far, the problem is still not solved.

There is a work around which can re-direct the logon to one chosen section page, but again thats not much use to us.

Can you come up with a solution?

      Using Developer 7.0.3

      Thank you

        Hi Bea

I don't know the solution to this one. Hopefully tech support will be able to come up with the answer.

          Help

          Hi
Is there anyone who knows how to sort this out?

If necessary, we would be happy to pay for a solution?

          I'd appreciate an early reply.

          Thanks in advance

If you move move the "force https" javascript to before the form opening tag, does that help?

I'd need more info before I could try. Where is it?

I've had a look in the shop templates but cannot find a "force https" javascript at all.

Also, since using Protx we no longer use https ?

Bit stressed out .. so may not be thinking clearly.

I just clicked the Login link and viewed the page source.

                <FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="/cgi-bin/bb000001.pl" > <a name="top"> <input type=HIDDEN name=RANDOM2 value="NETQUOTEVAR:RANDOM"></a> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE=JavaScript>
                <!-- Start script -----
// Place-holder for the script to ensure that https is used for this page
// if SSL mode is in use.
as you can see, this is inside the login form. Possibly something in that lump of code is breaking the normal process. I have not gone through it all to see.

                  Hi
If I've done the alterations correctly on my test site, its not made any difference at all.

After uploading my test site, when viewing the source, that piece of code was missing. But after login the page still reverts to the main page (not the section from which it was clicked).

                  Any other suggestions welcome?

I can't beleive such a fundemental requirement can be so difficult to achieve.
                  Surely it should be standard.

Sorry Bea - I think a support technician/developer needs to take a look at this. Didn't you say that you had spoken to support?

                      Hi
Yes, I have spoken to them and emailed many times.
Everyone is polite and helpful, but so far none of the solutions work on our site.
