    Comodo

    Hi all,

I have just signed up with omodo and am wanting to put the clever little corner image they offer.
However they are saying that I need to upload the image to my server, and I don't know how to do this without just placing it as a fragment on my site (which I have tried and it does not appear as it should).
    Instructions are here.
    http://www.trustlogo.com/ssl-certifi...rt/index2.html
But they do not make sense to me.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

You should use ftp to upload the file to the server that you have signed up for.
If you don't have an ftp program then google for one. There are a lot of free ones out there.

      Ftp

      Hi,
I have front page among other programs but don't know how to do it.
If I create a webpage and upload it, surely this will over right my existing site leaving me with nothing but the image.
As you can tell I do not have any experience doing this type of thing.
      Thanks.

        Hi,
If you click on the link below it will download Smartftp. It's the program that I use.
        http://dw.com.com/redir?pid=10593374...-10593374.html
Smartftp is free although it will ask you to purchase the full version, this isn't neccessary.

You should be able to get your ftp details from your webhost, whoever that is.
Enter the ftp details into the host, username and password boxes then connect.
Once connect right-click on the image that you want to upload, and click on copy. Then right click and paste it into the folder where your files are stored. note not the acatalog folder. It will be the folder where your index.html file is (Or index.htm, index.php etc) The folder may be called 'htdocs' or something similar.

        This should work.

If you add the image to the Additional Files list inside of Actinic it will be uploaded to the site the next time you refresh the site so no need to mess with FTP programs. Bear in mind the image would be uploaded to the /acatalog/ folder on the server so any paths pointing to the image should be there

            ftp

            Hi Jont,
            Thanks for that.
I did click the link Dragen offered but my antivirus software went a bit mad and wouldn't let me see the site.
Can you explain how I do what you are saying a bit more as I really really don't understand how to add images apart from the standard browse button on a fragment or product.
            Thanks.

I think what he meant was, on actinic if you click on the advanced tab along the top, then additional files, simply click on add and browse for the files.

                Cheers Dragen.
I will give it a go.

                  Hi Mark,

save the image to the root of the site1 folder (where all the Act_templates are kept). Inside Actinic go to Advanced | Additional Files and add the new image to the list. Hit the upload button and the image will be FTP'd via Actinic to the web server.

Looking at the link above you then need to enter the URL of the image .. this would be something like http://www.site.co.uk/acatalog/image.gif .. obviously replacing the site.co.uk for your own site name and image.gif for the name of your image (note the path is to the /acatalog/ folder as this is where Actinic stores all the info it uploads by default)

Looking at the rest of the instructions you need to place the generated code into Act_Primary.html, Act_BrochurePrimary.html (and possibly also Act_PrimaryCheckout.html) ... these are the 3 main templates which show the outer design of your site.

                  HTH

You obviously know actinic better than me Jont! Much better instructions than mine.

Also in respect of my other thread about the pricing what html do I need to implement to change the price of the item?

                    Thanks

Are you going to display the logo on every page, or only the checkout pages?

To display on the checkout pages, go to Design | Options - Layouts tab, and select the edit button on the right alongside Checkout Pages layout line.

As it says on the linked page, copy the javascript exactly as it is and paste it immediately before the </HEAD> tag.

Save the image to your site folder in Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\ on your PC. Go to Advanced | Additional Files, click add and find the image file you just saved. Click on it to add it to the list of additional files. Upload the site.

Go to Advanced | Network Setup, and COPY the Catalog Url from the box on the top left. Now go to the instruction page and paste that URL into their image address box.

                        image

                        Hi guys,
                        sorry no joy.
I added the image as instructed and my site, however my image COMODO.gif when I check it on the comodo site does not appear I simply get a red cross where there should be an image which would let me go onto step 2.
