problem making changes to site

In fact here's a copy of mine, see if this helps you set your own, when i see your settings, i am seeing far too many extra folders which aren't referenced in other settings.

Ok, have tried doing the network wizard three times now and it just freezes up each time and have to control ALT DELETE to come out and go back in again

on 4th attempt I get a message saying

Zero length data has been received from the web server while checking internet filter software on your system. Most likely there is not enough free space on your server or your disk quota is exceeded

Please ensure you have reasonable amount of free space on your server

which seems odd as the whole site is well under 2Meg

so I did ok and now get another error mesage:-

Either your web root directory path or web site address appears to be incorrect. The connection wizard atempted to upload a file to the web root directory and download it via the web server but the file received was not the same as the file that was sent

so pressed ok and tried again (directories..) screen. Back to the zero length message and then the one about file not the same when downloaded again.

Now I'm thinking this is probably because when the files were loaded via Actinic before they showed as file size 0KB - if this is happening again it would account for it thinking the file is different. e.g. if it goes up being 1kb and downloads as 0 kb it will register as different
But why is it not sending the files content only the filename?

This is driving me nuts. Any pointers appreciated - thanks

does the package support having your own cgi-bin

Have tried changing the network set up to mimic your settings and get an error message when i click 'test' of

Unable to move to the cgi-bin directory "home/cgi-bin-local/" on the FTP server.
The specified directory does not exist or you do not have access to the directory.

Yet if I look at it with ftp it does exist and it has permissions of 777

The site has been running since it went live April 2005 but had no orders since end of May 2006 - which is why we have finally persuaded them to do a bit of a revamp - which is where it all started to go beep-up!!
