Hi,
Another variation on the stock management problems with Actinic.
We run 4 sites, one main site and 3 smaller ones. All of our products can cross-over on 2,3 or every site.
Stock control is becoming more difficult. It involves 2 A4 ring folders listing all of our products (over 1000 items with size, design derivatives).
We then manually adjust our stock and if we are out of stock then we have to delete that item manually in Actinic for each of our sites. (We use Developer v.7). This is time consuming and not very efficient.
I know that stock control in Actinic is not real-time.
I have little knowledge of DB but have wondered whether if we listed all of our products on "Site 1"...
..whether we could then link our other 3 sites to the Actinic "Site 1" DB as an external Data Base.
We could then use Mole-Ends Automation software to have a semi-automatic near-real time stock management system. With the master stock list being held within the Site 1 DB.
Would this be viable?
Have I missed something?
Anyone willing to take this on?
We can pay!
Any constructive comments, ideas and views appreciated.
Thanks
Nick
