Empty shopping cart

Hi All
I have had a few calls over teh last few days from customers who have placed goods in their shopping cart but when they go through to pay the shopping cart appears empty? Does anyone know why this might be? Thank you!

Who are you hosting with? There have been similar issues with sites with CLARA

Yes, Claranet, I have also been experiencing problems with enterign card details - the customer ofter thinks their order has been unsuccessful but in fact the order comes through fine! Do you know what I should do?

It looks as if the cart details don't appear on your checkout pages?

I would have though it made sense to include the cart details so people are confident of what they're ordering. Presumable you made a conscious decision to exclude the cart details but that could well be why they think the shopping cart is empty.

We havn't made any changes to the site, it has never caused confusion before. Once the item is selected, the basket then sometimes appears to be empty, the following pages are not the problem.

Good old CLARA - this is an intermittent issue at the moment (others on here have seen the same thing) and probably a residue of the recent upgrade work they have been doing.

May be worth bolstering the cart area with your phone number saying "if any issues ordering please call us on..." to try and convert some potentialy lost sales
