    Network settings problem

Disapointed that Actinic wont deal with Version 4 users anymore!.

So hope everyone on here can help me.

I have a problem with my network setting.

Under the CGI-BIN URL .. it should read

    http://www.website.com/cgi-bin/

However im getting an 'S' so it reads

    https://www.website.com/cgi-bin/

It wont go away, and i cant upload my site fully.

I have tried to Import a Txt.file to the network settings but it doesnt do anything.

Suggestions needed.. time is money. :S.

this is refering to https ie SSL

turn off SSL for the time being and revert the settings to http

then post all the settingsfor us to see.

There is little difference between v4 settings to v5,6,7 and 8

The only suspicious setting is that FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG - that infers that acatalog is a subfolder inside httpdocs which is itself a subfolder inside cgi-bin.

Try clearing that entry and uploading again.

I was able to reach the main index (with its under rebuild message and an auto forward to /acatalog/index.html), obviously the /acatalog/index and also the cgi-bin folder (I got a permissions error, not a 404 error), but it seems the scripts are not there, or not .pl or not numbered 000001.

Can you ftp to the site and check the relative path from cgi-bin to acatalog

            If it is
            /cgi-bin/
            /httpdocs/
            - - /acatalog/

I would try ../httpdocs/acatalog/ [note - two dots]

            if it is
            /httpdocs/
            --/cgi-bin/
            --/acatalog/

then try ../acatalog/ [note - two dots again]

What did the file structure look like on the ftp site? Seeing that really would help.

                    Benn,

I've had a look and the only thing I could see wrong was the permissions on the cgi-bin. It was set at 750 and not 755. I changed that.

When I then tried an add to cart I got the "product has just been removed" error.

Could you go back to your original setting /httpdocs/acatalog/ [I was misreading that - the leading slash translates as web root] and try a full refresh.

WJ, ... i did what you said and got a error the same as you did when trying to buy somthing:

Error: The specified product (reference 21) has just been removed from the catalog. Please return to the catalog and continue shopping. If you press the Refresh or Reload button on your browser, the removed products will no longer be visible in the catalog. We apologize for the inconvenience

However the first item that on my page i can buy, but no others...

When refreshing im coming across around 5 Time outs. the error says 'time out while attempting to change file permissions.

                      Benn

Just try uploading your store. The v4 settings test is very old now - so might not be compatible with the latest web server technologies.

Strange as I just visited your site and added 5 different items to the cart without any problems. Can you try deleting your actinic cookie and seeing if that cures your ordering problems.
