Anything I Can Do To Increase Upload Time?

To start I am using Developer V7..

I have about 1000 products alot of them duplicates..

Uploads lately are taking a very long time especially the part where it checks all the HTML pages. This is during a simple upload not a full refresh.

Is there anything I can do to speed this up any?

Try compacting your database and see if that helps.

On the hardware side, make sure you are packing enough RAM. I would suggest a minimum of 500MB, although 1-2GB wouldn't do you any harm at all, and would likely show a speed improvement.

As far as I'm aware it is dependant on your broadband connection upload rate and the contention on the line at the time you upload.

Normal monthly PC maintenance should be helping here too - Checking the disk for bad sectors, defragmenting (be your own judge of whether the disk needs defragmented - MS will happily accept a file in 400 plus fragments just because there is a lot of free space for it to use pre-caching results when you use that file).

Could you change the title of the thread though - surely it should be 'how can I Decrease upload time'.
