is there any way i can create a link to a free product after someone has paid a specific amount? eg. when someone has spent £35 they are then entitled to a free bean toy and i would like them to be able to choose their own.

You can do this in Actinic Business with a 'Cart Content' discount. You just need a reward type of '% off extra product' and then specify a discount amount of 100% (to make them free) and make sure the reward offers a 'product group' - which will be a product group containing all your bean toys.

You could also modify the cart summary javascript to display the extra link once a certain cart total had been reached. Shouldn't be too hard to do.
