    Order email problems.

    Hi!
I have just been contacted by a customer who is getting the Secpay email saying someone has placed and order and has paid via their service but they are not getting the email saying what products the customer has ordered via the website.
So they have to call me up and then I download the order from Actinic.

The email has been working in the past, its just recently it has stopped for no reason!

    Can anyone help me please,

    Owain.

they should have Actinic on thier PC so they can download the orders???

There is a thread dicussing this at the moment and the possible reasons for it - I assume you are using the send reciept copy email - I would not rely on this as the primary method of recieving orders.

I would have thought they would have a copy of Actinic on their PC as well but for what ever reason the shop has been setup so that they get the orders sent via the "send reciept email".

I will have a look for the thread which is talking about this.

        O.

            Indeed, especially at busy periods.

I have been experiencing huge email lags these past few days with orders arriving up to an hour before the notification email arrives.

It was setup like this before I joined the company I think it was being offered as a cheaper way to have an online shop......

Still looking for that thread, do you have a link?

              O.

Unless it is an attempt not to buy order manager? (or whatever it was called)

These orders were placed 2 days ago and the company still doesnt have the email from Actinic.

But if the company can download the orders they must have a copy of Actinic so how can it be cheaper?? .

You can have Actinic on 2 PCs you know - one to manage the products and the other to download the orders.

How odd. For the first time ever yesterday I had a customer contact me saying that they didn't receive an email confirmation after buying a product. I received the email from the psp saying they had paid but their order stayed in the Actinic pending payments (and is still there).

very odd. Doesn't make sense as never happened before.

I then noticed I had another email saying a catalogue order had been received. But no order or payment arrived.

These two instances happened yesterday. Can't explain it at all.

You may be right. I've taken the precaution of placing a clove of garlic in my pc to ward off the Elves. Or does that only work on Vampires? Any Elf experts out there?

They have a phobia of goats!

There is no mention of the customer owning Actinic - just they receive the order via email (hence why Owain has to download the order) - sounds like Actinic has been set to send a copy of the order which the purchaser buys to them and they take the order from that!!!

Is that not against the licence agreement?

Looks like the designers have been using developer to build multiple sites each setup like this so they avoid having to buy Order Manager as jont suggested
