discount voucher facility

can anyone suggest a way of introducing a facility to enable a customer to claim a discount based upon, perhaps, a published voucher number?

Actinic Business v7/8 has a coupon facility where people can enter a coupon into the store and it will give a discount on the order. It's not a one-time coupon though - it can potentially be used multiple times by multiple shoppers.
