Free shipping- some items still being charged

    Hi all,
Have recently changed to include postage and packing to mainland u.k and it seems to be fine except for a couple of items which still charge p&p at the checkout.
The weight is set as 0 in the weight field as it is else where but when i test on the site a postal charge comes up! refreshed and uploaded several times can't find any links in Actinic to this.
Items causing probs are propagator and plant labels in our potting shed section.

    Any ideas?

    thanks!

I see a handling charge - not shipping - on the propagator.

Have you cleared cookies and temporary internet files on your PC since making the changes?

I worked out that the marker sets on the same page were the 'labels' product you were referring to and yes, that did come up with a shipping charge.

How did you go about setting the free shipping up?

      Thanks for the advice.

I've deleted all the cookies I can find and the postage functions OK now.

      Best wishes

I set up the free shiping by zero-ing the product weight and amending the shipping table to allow free shipping for 0kg pakages. I did spot that the components permutations price value for the markers didn't alter when I amended the product price. So one to watch in future!

Although the propagator is now OK the Plant and Herb Marker Gift Sets still charge £1.70 postage!!

Have I made some error in the methodology?

Are those marker components tied back to hidden products for stock control purposes? And might those hidden products have a weight?

[added] or maybe they are just not specifically set to 0 so they are picking up a default

            Hi bill,
thanks for your time, slowly getting there although still not sure what is happening.
Irate customer who was chrged shipping for a holster for trimming shears when posatge should be free.
Checked the components and they are the correct price but one goes free the other charges.

What am i missing? The weight is set to zero

If every product is set to weigh exactly 0 and every hidden product that any component is associated with is also set to weigh exactly 0, then I am out of ideas. May be time to get support involved and send them a snapshot.

                Hi Bill,
                thanks for your support.
I've deleted the offending items refreshed and put them in again and voila the problem seems to have disappeared.

                Cheers,

Hmm - the sledgehammer approach - that can be pretty effective.
