Oh well, as long as other can see it.
Since update of IE I cannot see images from the preview page of actinic and neither does the preview page update as I build or add products.
Any ideas what I need to do apart from try and revert back to IE6.
        Thanks.

I am using IE7 so is my wife on another laptop, she can see the favicon and I still cannot.
I've got a feeling its one of those funny things, if you have previously visited the site you will not get to see the favicon, only new visitors will. I seem to remember this in the past when trying to test favicons myself

How silly these hings are, I don't think I will ever understand how they work.
            Thanks.

The other annoying thing about favicons is that when you save to Favourites and the favicon is shown (very useful to find a site that way), it will become an ordinary explorer icon if you delete your cache.

                How strange,
I have just gone onto my site and I can now see my favicon and also in favourites.
The strange thing is that I have not cleared my cache since lastnight at which time I could not see it.
Oh well ge there in the end.
                Now for the next job.
                Thanks.

You need to add it to your Act_Primary and Act_BrochurePrimary templates. The code you need is:

Sorry to ask, but how do I do this?

Backup any files that may get changed first.

You will find Act_primary.html in your Site1 folder - opne it in an editor or notepad locate the line:
                    <title>NETQUOTEVAR:PAGETITLE</title>

and then insert this immediately below it:
                    <link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="http://www.mydomain.co.uk/favicon.ico" type="image/ico" />

Change mydomain.co.uk to suit your site.

Now locate your Act_BrochurePrimary.html template in the same folder and do the same with it.

You will also need to manually upload your favicon.ico file into the root of your domain using an FTP client.

                      Where is my Act_primary.html

I have picked up this thread and it is exactly what I am looking to do. However, I cannot find the Act_primary.html file anywhere in my site 1 folder. I am using v 8.5.1

I have just uploaded my site

I would really like to have a favicon showing.

Let me know what you think of the site if you get time. My first effort at a website!! I am on a steep learning curve and have been very grateful to all the decent people who contribute answers to help laymen like me get around actinic.

                      All the best

                          Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum. I also see the favicon so if you don't yet it may just be a case of waiting until the next time you turn on your PC.

It would be best to post a request in the 'Search Engines and Site Review' forum. I'm sure you'll get lots of useful feedback.

                            Thanks

Thanks for your replies. Yes I eventually got it working thanks to an email support ticket. In version 8.5.1 there is no file. I had to input the code into the layout. Another valuable lesson!!

Thanks for the tip re the correct forum I will post there and see what I get back. This is a great community to engage.
