Hi there
Is it possible to batch watermark the images within my actinic site
as I imported it as a snapshot into the machine it is running on
and the original file folders are on another machine.

or is it possible to put a clear image on the front of my site
so that is all that is saved when an image is right clicked

You will need to run a batch program from a graphics program such as Photoshop on your image folder to add the watermark.

Have you tried a search on the forum for "watermark" as this topic has popped up before with various solutions

Photoshop can run a watermark batch for you, just run it on the folder that contains all of the images. The snapshot should then take these over, if it doesn't then just copy them in from the folder.

That could be dangerous unless all product images are in a sub-folder as you could watermark layout images, company logo's etc.

The ACD is a ZIP file - you cuold extract this to a temp location - delete everything other than the product images and batch mark those - then copy these into the site1 folder

Winzip. The old faithful version 7 - works better than the newer versions.
Rename the .acd file to .zip and then open it with Winzip.
If you can't find version 7 then pm me and I'll email you a link to it on our server.

I have just cut and pasted code into act primary which has disabled
right click on my site

but you can still right click on the extended information page

were to I insert the code to stop that ?

Not sure, but try the Act_ExtendedInfo template.

Disabling the right click will only put up one barrier to image theft and can irritate genuine customers - any image on the web can be captured at full resolution simply by doing a Prt Sc and copying into an imaging program - watermarks are the best way to go if you are likely to have a problem with competitors using your images (and also if a customer saves an watermarked image for reference, they will be able to remember where they got it from.......).

This really winds me up on a site which uses it - it achieves nothing.

I agree 100%, the disabled right click is a total waste of time. It also ranks in the top 10 of user hates on a website. Try and control what your users can and cannot do and you will lose - period.

I can run a batch process on 3,000 images within 15 minutes if i want a watermark on each image. Disabling the right click was something born about 6 years ago and it died about 2 years ago.
