Adding a the same product to more than one section

Can anyone explain how I can add the same product to more than one section, as when you right click and copy a prodcut and then paste it, it creates a new product id.

You can't do this with catalog. The product reference has to be unique. What people sometimes do is add a postfix to the reference to make them easy to identify when you update them.
