Act_ProductLine.html is the correct default template - the image is in a cell seperate to the text - you will need to move the NETQUOTEVAR from the right hand cell into the left ... the easiest way to see the table structure is to open the template in say Dreamweaver or Frontpage and temporarily add in the opening <table> and closing </table> tags around all the code ... this will then show a graphic representation of the table for you to drag and drop the NQV to the correct place... don't forget to delete the <table> tags before saving and reviewing back inside Actinic

      Hi

Thank you for the immediate response!

I have made many efforts to modify the file act_ProductLine.htm in terms of deleting, dublicating and moving the following NETQUOTEVAR :

      <a name="NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTANCHOR"><span class="actregular"><b>NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTNAME</b></span></a>

Without any change when reviewing the product pages in actinics

Also tried putting into Dreamweaver to view it - I only get a list of NETQUOTEVAR's not sure if that is the case with actinic 8 but I currently on 7

      all help kindly appreciated

      Kind Regards

Paste the html into DW and add the tags as jont suggested - you will then be able to move bits arround.

Yes I know all the files - but the one you are editing is the one that controls the product layout.

                  Hi

Did try this without any change in the actinic window when refreshed

the files are all kept so there's no dublications anywhere

                  Actinic v7\Sites\Site1

I feel this is very strange!

Design | Options - Layout tab - what file is selected for the default product layout? [You may have to click edit then get the filename from the editor window that pops open.

Open actinic, click on one of your products you want to change in the content tree, click on the layout tab in the product details, examine the contents of "Product Layout"

                      Does it say parent?

if so click on its section name in the content tree, click on Product tab, default layout, does it say parent?

if so click on Design menu, options, Layouts tab, product templates, default product layout, click the edit tab, take a note of the name of the file in the blue title bar, it may say Act_productLine.html or it may say something else. This is the file to edit.

if at any point going through products and sections you don't see "Use parent" thisis the point at which you choose the edit button to identify the template.

[Bill's reply took less time to write than mine, but our responses are the same, mine just a little more longwinded. His wasn't there when I started ]

And it is for v7, sorry again Jo. I have been working on v8 all day, and seeing you start from the Content Tree threw me off.

my reply is for v7, it covers having different templates at product or section levels rather than just identifying the template at the top level

                            Wow! Thank you very much

so many files to look and locating the write one through the lists was hard work and guess work.

design options / layouts was the winner

Cheers! Happy New Year to all
