    URLs without www

I have recently moved my site to a new host, and have noticed a problem(?). The hosting company are at a loss to explain it - wondered if anyone could enlighten both me and them:
My home page www.guidepost.uk.com is outside of Actinic, and when you click on either the "shop" button or "start shopping" link to enter the Actinic part of the site, the URL is guidepost.uk.com/shop/acatalog - i.e. the www is missing.
The HTML for the links is correct, containing the www, and links from the home page to other links within the shop are fine.
Any ideas what could be causing this, and is it a problem?
    Thanks.

It's a redirect problem from your host caused by missing the trailing / after acatalog (and or missing the / from your catalog url in the actinic network settings).

    i.e. http://www.guidepost.uk.com/shop/acatalog doesn't work properly

    but http://www.guidepost.uk.com/shop/acatalog/ does.

Your hosts should fix their redirects.

And yes, this could be a problem. Mixing www. and non-www. urls confuses the search engines and can lead to cookie and checkout problems.

    Best get it fixed.
