    Missing orders??

    Hi,

I am concerned I might be missing some orders as today's orders do not run in sequence, something which I have never come across before.

    Today's orders are ~

    ******10001131 and ******10001135

I have got no emails or orders for anything in between. I have checked the error log and there are no entries for last few days.

Could someone confirm whether this is okay and I haven't lost any orders?
And perhaps explain what may cause this to happen

    Thanks

    Paul

If you're using Actinics javascript encryption then this can happen.

    See this thread: http://community.actinic.com/showthr...+order+numbers

      Missing Orders??

Thanks for the reply and pointing me to the relevant thread.

I am using Actinic Shared SSL. Can anyone explain at what stage an order number is assigned to a customer? If it is that a customer has quit at the payment stage I would like to try and workout why. Is there an error log for the Shared SSL payment screen?

      Thanks

      Paul

The last post on that thread explains when the order number is created and assigned.

i.e. The number order is assigned to the order when the customer completes the address and delivery details and goes to pay. The problem with using actinics in-built credit card capture is that orders don't get created if the customer backs out or leaves at the payment stage.(using a PSP doesn't have this problem as the order is created when actinic hands over to the psp).

This is fairly typical behaviour though. Customers (and competitors)often 'test' the checkout stage and/or change their minds when it comes to the final commitment of paying for the goods.
