Hi all,
I have been contacted by a customer who has reported a problem when sending an email through the actinic site.
I have tested this myself an have received an error saying:
Error returned from SMTP server (4: email client. )
I am receiving the emails but people are sending them over and over thinking they are not coming through.
Please help as this is less than professional.

Mark,

This is an issue with your Hosting, maybe a setting on the SMTP server or the SMTP server is slow or has a lot of requests to deal with and hence people think the mails are not being sent and are hitting the send button repeatedly.

The error message you posted is usually linked to either a relay issue or to the client needing Authentication turned on.

Thanks Bruce,
Can you tell me if this is something I can check in Actinic or do I need to ask my host.
The error message comes up as soon as the message is sent if this helps.
