New products have custom properties in double !

Here it goes :
I select an already create product and copy it to create a new product.
I modify the just created product and it's custom properties.
The old one has now missing custom properties.
And when I go back to the new one, the custom properties are in double and I get an error message: "Duplicate custom properties". I have to erase them.
Is my database corrupted ? Can I corrected it ?
Can I do/check something to prevent this to happen ?
I have a large database: 18 000 products.
My Actinic version is: 7.0.6.1.0.0.GBGA

Hi Bernard

All I can suggest at point is for you to compact the databases through HouseKeeping | Compact Databases. Hopefully this will make a difference. I'm suggesting this because I tried to replicate the problem by following what you've give, but I could not reproduce it.

If you are willing to try the compacting database option please make sure you have a backup of your site.

I had to go back at a previous (6 days) snapshot of my site !
Two intermediate snapshots had the corrupted site.

Now, it's o.k. !
Now, I will execute a very rigorous snapshot schedule !
