General Script Error - HELP!!

When customers are adding to shopping cart they are receiving the following error message:

A General Script Error Occurred

Error: The specified product (reference CP327S) has just been removed from the catalog. Please return to the catalog and continue shopping. If you press the Refresh or Reload button on your browser, the removed products will no longer be visible in the catalog. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner.

A response from my hosting company, does this help diagonose the problem?

"We are unaware of any issues regarding this server currently, and I can access your website without issue. However when I try to add anything to the shopping Cart, I get a 'general script error' and the message that the products have been removed from the catalog?

Now. if I access your databases in MyPanel there are no database tables present, which would suggest they have been dropped or removed for some reason?"

Any help would be appreciated.

Your host obviously has no knowledge of Actinic. You do not need any database online.

Try a purge and refresh of your site. If that doesn't help then try changing the script ID and refresh.

its not really a hosting issue, so unless you are hosting with an actinic specialist host i feel the host's answer is acceptable.

The solution lies within actinic....try Duncan's suggestions

I have the same problem again but have tried a script number change and purge and refresh several times.

The strange thing is that I marked 1 section "not to be viewed online" (our amber section) whilst the company were closed for a while. Now they are back I have unticked the box so that the items can now be ordered.

Amber jewellery can be added to the shopping basket but it is all the other products that generate a general script error.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I would suggest that you take a backup of your site first (file | snapshot | export site). Then export the catalog (file | export) and re-import it (file | import) and see if this brings up any errors. There may be some confusion in the database over some products (duplicates, for example) and this may sort them out. Then compact your database (Housekeeping | compact databases) and finally, do another purge and refresh.

I managed to sort the problem out by importing a 2 day old Snapshot, compacting database, changing script ID and finally a purge and refresh.

Fingers crossed the site has been working well for a few days now.
