    unable to send emails from within actinic

    Hi there
    we were just wondering if anyone else is still unable to send the automated customer emails from actinic to let customers know their order has been accepted? Our hosts pinbrook have sent us new settings, but we still cant send out mail. I have spoken to our ISP BT a million times, but they are sure that their settings are all ok....any ideas please? This has been going on for months now and customers are starting to complain thank you!

    These emaisl are supposed to be sent from your web host, not your ISP (unless the two are the same).

    The correct email settings in actinic are those that you get from your web host. When sending emails, actinic passes the text up to the web server and tries to send them from there. It's unlikely that your ISP will accept the emails from actinic if it's on someone elses server.

      Network settings

      I had the same in Nov 2006, my host changed some settings and omitted to tell us, our customers were not getting order confirmations, e mails etc.

      I phoned my host and I changed SMTP server settings from localhost to an IP number, uploaded and all was well again.

      I would ask your host again to help out, Pinbrook have been very helpful to me in the past.
