assigning an order to an account

A customer has placed 3 orders, I have decided to open an account for them so on the first order I pressed the 'create account' button.

So now this first order is recognised as this account and any subsequent orders will be recognised as this account (assuming they login!).

But can I assign the 2 existing orders to the account as well?

You can in V8, but in V7 and below you can use a little tool in my free library (called somethnig along the lines of assign customer) to do this.

Yep, go to Mole End, get Jan's free application and use it. That makes sure all the inter relationships between tables are kept intact.

:-) we've even fixed the bug with setting external refs on the orders that are assigned to accounts, it a nice program and it's free.

ok, can you give me a clue to where it's located on your site? maybe I'm being dim, but I can't find it in any of the sections - including the complete a-z list...

It's in the free software library, login to the site using the password in the last newsletter and then you'll find a downloads section in the free library section. So it's not quite free, you have to receive my newsletter but it's almost free.
