Basket keeps emptying itself

This is not happening for me, I am able to add to cart and then go to the home page, select another product, add to cart, use the browser back button to return to the home page, then use the browser next button to go back to the last page (cart) then checkout etc, without any issues.

This could be a caching issue on your machine or something weird happening on the server.

Yes, I think that's as far as we got last time. But it is weird that it happens to both firefox AND ie7 at the same time - I mean they don't both use the same cookies/caching files. And I can't see what it would be on the server - like I said last time I tried erasing every single file on the server but still not fixed...

I would blame that norton anti virus (what a pain that is!) except that I can use all my other sites fine, it just seems to hit certain ones on certain occasions.

try reinstalling firefox....

I suggest FFas it is easier to re-install, failing that try installing opera

bah, it's happening AGAIN. Only on one PC (the development one!), the other works fine. Again I broke it in IE but when I go to firefox it's broken in there as well. I've erased the cookies, the session files on the server, refreshed the site, gone into IE and deleted all tempory files/cookies - what else is there???

TBH no idea what is happening. I would suggest raising a support ticket on this one, they may need to see a copy of Act_Diagnose that you can run from 'Help | troubleshooting'.
