put a netqoutevar in a customvar..?

can this be done.
im trying to place a simplesearch in a new fragment, ive created placed customvar and tried a value of,,, find fast NETQOUTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH and tried find fast !!<NETQOUTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH>!! and
find fast !!<<NETQOUTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH>>!!
no joy.

Alas not all NQV are available at all levels in the template hierachy.

To get the simple search to work simply view the sourse code of a page with the generated simple search and paste that between !!< >!!
