    Order Shipped Email Problem

    Hi

    I recently moved my site over to a new server and the SMTP and POP details for emails are the same as the IP address of the server.
    For example if the server IP address was: 333.543.782.111 then this would be the settings for both my SMTP and POP account for emails and in Actinic the SMTP again the same.
    The problem I am having, which I didn't experience before is that for some reason I cannot send 'Order Shipped' etc. emails to customers, I get the following error:

    Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

    Possible Cause:
    1. Network transmission problems.
    2. Could have Changed the SMTP Server settings, but not Uploaded after that.

    Recommendation:
    1. Retry
    2. Upload the Site First, if you have changed the SMTP Server Settings.

    Resolution:
    If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
    or contact your ISP.

    The error was:
    (here would the relevant email address)Error returned from SMTP server (4: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

    Has anyone else had this problem? and could anyone help?

    It's rare (in my experience) for them to be hosted on the same server. SMTP problems is one of the hottest topics on this forum and depends on the host.

    For starters, try 'localhost' in the smtp setting and remove username and passwords - see what that does.
