You can embed HTML into the product description by surrounding it with !!< and >!!.

So for bold it would be

    !!< <b>This is bold text</b>>!!

And for colour text it would be

    !!< <font color="#0000FF">This is bold text</font> >!!

    This would be blue text.

Easiest way I find is use frontpage to generate the text then cut and paste the HTML as I have done here.

      Thanks Alistair.

How do I get to view the HTML?
Sorry for being the daftest brush on the planet but this is all new to me.
      Cheers

If you open FrontPage with a blank page and then type in text you want. The format the text as you want it to look -

        Bold
        Italics
        Underline
        Colour
        Font size etc.

Once happy then select HTML. On my version (2002) this is in the bottom left of the window. Select everything between, but not including <body> AND </body>. This can then be pasted into your product form surrounded by !!< and >!!

Another option is to save the file from FrontPage or Word as an HTML file. This can then be opened with Notepad and the cut and paste done the same way.

        Hope that helps.

          Thanks Alistair

I have done that in frontpage and found the HTML tag, but where are the HTML files for my catalogue so I can edit them?

          Cheers
          Will.

Dont edit the edit files for the site, these are generated automatically prior to upload.

Cut and paste the HTML you have from frontpage into the Product Description field you want the text in. Immediately before the HTML you pasted put !!< and then after it put >!!

These symbols tell Actinic that it is embedded HTML and it will automatically generate the formatted text in the product description area.
