Single add to cart button Quantity = 1

Hi Folks
I have spent all day looking for the answer to my problem but I cant find it.
I have 2 products and a single add to cart button but I need the qty box to be 1 not 0 (& still keep single add to cart button).
I know this can be done as I acheived it a year ago. I am rebuilding my website after loosing my backups

I want the qty box in the lower options product to read 1, I am using different lightly modified templates for each product.
Also if anyone can suggest a workaround so that I can order 50metres of rope but only 1 of each option all on the same product page that would be awsome.

Make a new Product Template for this add-on product. In that template replace

NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTQUANTITY

with

<!-- NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTQUANTITY --><input type=hidden name="Q_NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTREFERENCE" value="1">
