Free product on certain orders

Hi there, had a search around the forums before posting but couldn't find the answer to my query anywhere, but apologies if it has been answered before!

We're looking to do an offer where you receive a free item with all orders over £20, is there a facility on Actinic V7 to support this kind of thing?

Any help appreciated!

Do you want the free item to be fixed or can the customer choose?

It's a fixed item, a free scarf with orders over £20.

In that case then just add a fragment, image or banner stating that they receive a free gift and add it to the box when you dispatch.

Promote it throughout your site of course

No other actinic work is warranted IMHO.

Cool, so i take it there's nothing I can do to that will add the item to the invoice or take it off stock level?

Hi,

If you have the 'Business' or 'Developer' software then you can set up a 'cart contents' discount. You would need to first set up a product group with that contains all of your products except the scarf product (note that you can't add a product to more than one product group so this may stop you adding more 'cart contents' discounts to your store). Then go to 'View | Discounts & Surcharges settings' and set up a discount with the following options:

- enabled: ticked
- based on: (one of the value options)
- Trigger: £20
- Product Group: your product group
- Reward Type: % off extra product
- Reward Amount: 100 (ie 100%)
- select 'Product' and choose the scarf from the drop-down box
You will probably want to tick the 'Only one reward per order box' too.
