Using Actinic on 2 PC's

Hi all,

I currently run Actinic V7 Catalog on my home PC but want to be able to make changes etc to my site (offline) on a Laptop.

Can I load Actinic on the laptop, save a snapshot from my PC and import it to the laptop, make the changes and then put it back on the PC to upload to the server?

Yes - if you use snapshot to re-export from the Laptop and re-import to the PC, but be aware that doing this, the whole site will be refreshed every time you upload - because every file will be given a new timestamp each time you import a snapshot.

Every time a file is written to your hard disk, the directory information for that file is updated with the date and time that the write finished.

Actinic keeps track of the date and time recorded for the uploaded files and does a comparison between that and the current timestamp for every file used on the site. If the local copy has a more recent time - it gets marked for upload.

Snapshots replace each file on disk, so the time will always be newer than the file on the website.
