    Problems with Order emails

    Hi,

We're in the process of moving out site from one host to another, but have hit a snag.

The site works fine, places orders and processes them fine (with World Pay).

But the site will only send the first email. Additional orders from the same machine or other machines work but never send to email to me.

I've turned logging on, on the server and it never even tries to send via smtp.

Although if i delete the .session files it creates it will send the email for the next order, but then orders after that are back to square one. No "You have an order emails are sent"

I've copied the site completely, same problem.
I've refreshed and uploaded again, same problem.
Even the wizard sends the test email ok to confirm email settings are ok, but again first order works, but other orders don't send the email,

Be most greatfull for any help

    Thanks
    Dan Moore

This is the way actinic is designed to work. It will send you ONE email telling you have an order, it will not send another untill you have downloaded the orders that are on the server.

If you want an email for every order you can get a reciept copy sent to you in business settineg.

Doh, my fault for misunderstanding the issue.

      Been chasing the wrong error.

Further investiation shows that it's not sending the order confirmation emails to customers. Strange as the order ready emails are going out fine, so presume Actinic uses the same server details to send emails to the customer?

This is usually associated with the smtp server wanting authentication before sending 'external' emails but will send them to an internal address without complaining.

The usual solution is just to use 'localhost' as the smtp server name and this bypasses the need for authentication.

Authentication is currently off. The server is outside the network. I can send emails fine when using the same smtp settings and outlook express, so know it's not a routing issue or relay permisison.

It's just bafling me that actinic will send emails to say orders are ready to be downloaded, but won't send individual emails to confirm customer orders. Settings are the same, so presume it must be a script error somewhere. But it doesn't log/generate any errors?
