    Thumbnails not showing

    Hi,

    I'm sure im missing something really obvious, but am totally stuck on this one! I am trying to create a page of thumbnail section links. I have followed the instructions in the advanced users guide (several times!) but can't get it to work. I have put my products in subsections within sections, and have made sure the Act_SectionLine.html reads as the template in the guide -

    <!-- SectionLine HTML begin -->
    <!-- Insert HTML for the beginning of a section title -->

    <DIV ALIGN="CENTER">

    <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="5" WIDTH="160">
    <TR>
    <TD ALIGN="CENTER" VALIGN="TOP">
    <A HREF="NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONLINK">NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONIMAGE</A>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    <TR>
    <TD ALIGN="CENTER" VALIGN="MIDDLE">
    <A HREF="NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONLINK">
    <B>NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONNAME</B></A><BR>
    NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONTEXT
    </TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>

    </DIV>
    NETQUOTEVAR:NEXT
    <!-- Insert HTML for the end of a section title -->
    <!-- SectionLine HTML end -->

    I then checked 'Override Default Settings' in the layout tab of the section I want to use thumbs in and changed column counts to 3.

    When I click on the section the links are in columns of three, but there is no thumbnail?

    What am I doing wrong??

    Thanks
    Rebecca

        Have you put images in for the sections - if not then actinic will display an invisable gif

          Do you mean in the subsection under the page name?

            You need to define an image to be used for each section/subsection for then to be shown as thumbnails, without them you will just get text links

              On any section you create Rebecca, there is an option to include an image. There is a specific field for it and it is just for this use. Are you using them?

                Yes, I am using them. I think im just being stupid Is the thumbnail image shown not the image that you put in the thumbnail section of the product? I can get the image I put in the sections to show, I just wouldnt call them thumbnails! I thought the thumbnails could only be up to 150 pixels? If I put a bigger imagen in, say 300 pixels it still shows?

                  Thumbnails are used elsewhere - you need to put an image in the section - as lee says there is a field to put them in

                        When I said that I wasn't trying to waste anyone's time - I just misunderstood how thumbnails were used in actinic. I was trying to get images to show as small pictures before going to the product without having to create a new images each time as my images in the products page are quite large - I thought a smaller size of those would be shown using the thumbnail section. Now I need to create a new picture for each section link. I hadn't put images in the sections because I thought it could use the image I had put in the thumbnail section of the product - hence they weren't showing. I didn't mean to mess you about or mislead you, sorry if that's how you took it. You help was appreciated.

                          No worries Bex.

                          Actinic has a steep learning curve. I also wish there was a feature wherby you could flag a product image to use as section image.

                            That smacks of automatically setting up one-page-per-product.
