using ssi's and changing extensions to .shtml

Can someone please tell me how to make the default page extension to .shtml instead of .html so that I can use ssi's on all my pages.
Also what is the best way of including ssi's into actinic pages. I see there are around three different ways.

    Hi Lee

I don't know of a way to change the default extension to .shtml in Actinic. The section pages and brochure pages can be named with a .shtml extension, but the interface will not allow the base page name to have a extension other than .html. It can be changed directly in the database, but will revert back to .html when you make any changes in Design Options.
