    Taking People Straight to a Product - The webpage cannot be found

    Hi

    On my main page www.7daycanon.co.uk (below the IRCA label) I have made some quick links leading straight to specific products, using the info found in the Actinic advanced user guide pg44 stating;

    It is possible to take people straight to a specific product with a hyperlink of the following form:
    http://your.URL/cgi-bin/ss00000x.pl?...2345&NOLOGIN=1

    BUT the funny thing is this link works sometimes on my PC, and with mixed results on others (V.Confusing).

    For example.
    If I added the hyperlink of
    http://www.7daycanon.co.uk/cgi-bin/s...08AA&NOLOGIN=1
    When clicked on with different computers I get 2 different addresses.

    WORKS
    http://www.7daycanon.co.uk/shop/acat...ml#a9443A008AA

    DOES NOT WORK
    http://www.7daycanon.co.uk/acatalog/...ml#a9443A008AA
    The webpage cannot be found

    Notice the(/shop/) difference

    Has anyone come across this before??

    Regards

    Ilford
    (hope I have not made this sound confusing, I just wanted to give as much info as possible)

    You must have your site set up for /shop/ and then acatalog so your folder structure is something like:

    /public_html (or what ever your top public folder is)
    --> Shop
    --> acatalog
    --> cgi-bin

    Your 2nd link is trying to connect onto straight acatalog when that does not exist and needs shop/acatalog

    Would double check your network settings if this is automatically populated and also if you manually adjusted your templates, check you have not assigned a fixed referrer entry in any pages which might be causing you issues.

    A search of the forum will bring up loads on those subjects.

      If your site is still under development, another option would be to remove the /shop/ folder and just go straight to /acatalog/ - this is simpler and might be better for Google (although inevitably people will have different views on this.)

      By the way, on a large screen using IE6, your home page is centred at the top (main Flash etc) but the content is left aligned - see attachment.
