    Shipping Zone/Class issue

    Hi

Is it possible to have an item that is free delivery in one delivery zone, but is chargable in another zone? I have been putting the weight in at zero to get the free delivery, but then I need the weight to register for other zones and classes. Any ideas?

    Cheers

You can set the pricing matrix for each of the zones accordingly - keep the weight correct for the items but set the costs for the weights in the non-standard zone accordingly to set a higher free trigger point on the weights

Thanks Jont, sorry I forgot to say that I only want the free delivery to one specific product.

Try setting a very low weight for that one product eg 0.01kg and in the free zone set weight of 1kg = £0.00 ...... this may cause issues with the normal zone so you could go the other end and allocate a very heavy weight eg 5000kg and set the cost at £0.00.

Again if the customers are likely to order additional items you will then need to start the matrix again from 5001kg to account for other items being added to the cart.

You will obviously need to adjust the above values to account for other product weights and if the customer buys multiples of the same item (if they are always free shipped)

Its a pain and quite convoluted but it can be done. This is the very reason for the new shipping in v8.5 which helps to address this problem.
