    Creating product lists?

There is probably a simple answer to this, but the pdf manual wasn't much help -

How do I create product lists? ("select items for a list")

I can copy the default section and copy/paste the products and then just rename the text, but if I try to create a new section with new products they just seem to appear a separate products instead of a list.

I have noticed that the product layout is set to "Act_ProductLineTable.html" on the existing products, which is probably the key to this problem - however, this item is not available on the new products I have created...

Can someone help me in the right direction?

    Thanks,

    John.

I might have the wrong end of the stick here but I think you might want to set the shopping mode to 'single add to cart' on the sections you are creating, you will then have one 'add to cart' button and each product will have a quantoty next to it.

      See http://www.mole-end.biz/acatalog/Quick_Ordering.html for an example.

that is the effect I am looking for (kind of) and I can do that by taking the 'printer cartridge' example and cutting/pasting/editing the products.

However, if I try to get the same effect by using 'create section' and 'create product' it doesn't work. The 'Print Cartridge' example that is in the initial setup, has a product called 'print cartridge' which has a description and a picture but a price of zero. On the webpage it appears as a kind of heading. The individual cartidges then appear under it on the webpage with their price and the quantity field.

When creating these myself, though, What I get is the 'printer cartridge' as an actual product with a quantity next to it rather than as a kind of heading as in the default example.

The layout of each product is set by the template it uses. By default the template is set to 'use parent' which might explain the different formats you are seeing when you create your products in slightly different ways. On the example page I listed the product layout template is set to 'No image, laid out in rows'. it sounds as if you might need to create your own product layout template to get it exactly as you want.
