    Integrating into Actinic? - How

I've had a meeting this morning with my Boss having got to the stage of setting up a PSP for our website, we use Barclays Bank and have a Merchant Account. I've passed on information to him regarding Protx and Secure Hosting, and he has come back to me telling me he did not realise that these would act as a "middle man" and therefore would incur costs to both Protx or Secure Hosting and also to Barclays Bank.

So he has been talking to Barclays Bank, and has come back to me with this link

    www. .com
(sorry for some reason it wont let me post a hyperlink)

Informing me that Barclays bank have said to him that this can be integrated into Actinic, and can cut the middle man out?

    How true is this?

We use Actinic 7.0.0.6 and have checked the Payment & Security tab and cannot see so how does this actually integrate into Actinic?

URL doesn't work. You can buy the developer kit for about £1,000 and build your own, either that or use a provider thats integrated with Actinic.

Barclays are not listed as a gateway on that site anyway.

As mentioned earlier to integrate any provider or gateway someone, usually the provider, will need to purchase the integration developer kit and do the development/testing etc. required for the integration - not a task for the likes of most people.

This looks like more trouble than it is worth. My boss just came to me yesterday afternoon with that link and said Barclays have told me that this will integrate into Actinic, and that was it!

To me os commerce looks just like php source code, to create an ecommerce site, that is an alternative to actinic, not a free PSP. Can you tell me please what you mean by the integration developer kit?

My boss was informed by Actinic yesterday when he called them direct that if you have an HSBC account Actinic can integrate directly with them via the HSBC Secure ePayments can anyone confirm this?

HSBC also integrates with actinic but again there are 2 sets of charges, a percentage to HSBC and a fixed rate (£20 ? pm) to use the online cc processing.

The only way to have one set of charges is to use SSL is to download the CC detail yourself and manually process. This is not recommended as trends seem to point everyone to using a PSP.

Essentially you have to understand that each link in the chain will take a cut for processing. So a merchant acct is going to take a %, and so will the PSP

HSBC is as far as I know the ONLY bank that fully integrates with Actinic all the others require a middleman to pass the orders.

There are loads of threads about HSBC and I use it for many of my sites with great success.

HSBC is still divided into 2 charges though

a % for the merchant and a fixed fee for psp per site

Spoken to a tech guy at ePDQ Barclays who has informed me os commerce cannot be integrated into actinic, it is instead of Actinic. Problem is ive been working on the site for months now, and its almost done.

Secure Hosting charge a price per transaction depending on how many transaction credits you buy, as well as a fee per annum.

With HSBC is it just a monthly fee and NO transaction credits.?

Boss is contemplating transferring banks to HSBC from Barclays.

yes this is a nonsense as they are 2 discrete shoppingcart packages.

I was considering moving to hSBCa few montha ago, I was quoted a % for the merchant account PLUS £20 per site that uses Epayments
