Can't seem to get 2 order level discounts

I have created 2 order level discounts, both triggered by coupons.

I can apply the first one ok, but the problem is when I apply the second one it overwrites the 1st...

The 'Allow only one order value discount per order' is not checked, and the fact that such an option exists implies that it should be possible to have more than one...

They both have different trigger values and discount amounts.

    David,

A coupon code will only apply the instance of discount related to it and cannot incorporate a discount previously applied as it is only a trigger, it has to be either one of the coupon codes but cannot be both at the same time.

The following is from the help files in Actinic...
Select 'Only One Reward Per Order' if you only want one instance of this discount to be applied on the shopping cart contents. If this is not selected, then multiple applications of the discount will be allowed.

For example, if the offer was 'spend £10 get £1 off', then if the customer spent £35, they would get £1 off if 'Only One Reward Per Order' was checked, but the customer would get £3 off if it was not checked.
    Kind regards,

I would like a similar option:

Have set up 2 customer groups: retail and distributors.

      - All customers (both groups) receive a discount when an order quantity of 54 is applied. Works fine.

      - Distributor has a further discount of £2 off per product. Works fine up to 53.

      - When distributor orders 54, the second discount is overwritten by the first.

I wanted both discounts to be applied.

The reason that I have not applied a customer group discount to the distributor, is that there is not a generic % or £ value across the range of all products. Can't seem to have different discounts per product group for a customer group. eg boxes £1 off, chemicals 10% off...

Hence, why I added a discount based on product group for a customer group based on order value in the hope that more than one discount could be applied. Would have worked well!

      Is it possible?
Is it due in a future version?

        Hi Sam,

From what I understand you have two discounts that you wish to be applied in conjunction with each other so that they both take an effect in the cart.

This is possibly however it will depend on how you set these discounts up. I suggest, if you haven’t already, to try to create theses discounts as ‘cart contents’ rather than order level. The order structure of the discounts is also very important as actinic will look at which discount is first in the list. It may be that you need to rearrange the order of your discounts, I’m not sure of the triggers you have in place but if you have the same trigger, it will be important which one is applied first.

If you are still unsuccessful, please feel free to email or call (if you have cover) into support for a more detailed explanation/enquiry.

At the moment, I have 2 discounts for the same product group.

The first is applicable to everyone and is based on quantity - 54 and over for a £ per item discount with a trigger of 54.
The second is applicable to one customer group: distributors and is to give them a certain £ off every filter (can't set up percentage off all products as £ discount depends on the item) I have set up as based on quantity with a trigger of 1.

If a distributor orders, the second discount is applied up to 53. When the second trigger of 54 is reached, this discount is replaced by the first discount instead of both applying.

Are you saying that I should choose 2 discounts of 2 different types?
Will give it a go, but would be interested in learning more as this will be important.

          EDIT:

As I already have discounts based on Cart Contents, can't seem to get your idea to work.
Decided so far that the best way to do it is to set up different sets of discounts for each customer group. ie: the universal discount of £1 (trigger 54) - set up as retail. then a different discount set up for distributors at £2 (trigger 1), to change to discount of £3 at (trigger 54). So I am adding up the discounts myself instead of getting Actinic to do it.

Tried different orders of discounts - still didn't work - is this a known problem?

          Always open to other ideas?

Coincidentaly I seem to be having the exact same discount problem, having just added a new free product yesterday. The situation is:

Buy a Wood Burning Stove (all within one group) and recieve a free flue pipe (set in a group, based on trigger of 1, with 100% off extra product). Additional offer, based on same wood burning stove group, involves recieving a new free firelighter pack (set in a group, trigger of 1, with 100% off extra product).

As previously mentioned in this thread, one discount cancels out the other, even though 'Only apply one discount online for this group' is NOT ticked. The top discount in the list takes president, however, to make things worse the list in Actinic keeps automatically placing a particualr offer at the top after I close the page.

Could really do with an answer otherwise it's going to cause a lot of confusion.

            Thanks

Is there really no way to do this? Having 2 different coupons available at the same time not an unusual event for an e-commerce shop, so I can't believe that actinic was built to only allow 1 coupon per order. That would just suck.

I'm trying to do this now with no luck at all -

buy a label printer get a free starter pack
buy some labels get 10% off

It's quite likely that some of the people who buy a label printer might want to buy some labels at the same time, but actinic refuses to honour both coupons (it just chooses the one most recently entered).

              Is this possible?

(ps. I'm trying to create two 'cart content' discounts, triggered by coupons)

Unfortunately you can only enter one coupon code.

The ony work around to this is perhaps some lateral thinking such as giving another coupon code away in the box with the printer etc. to encourage additional orders.
