section text 50 characters

Hello,
when I create a section text Actinic only allows to enter 50characters.
Is there a way I can enter more than 50 characters?

You can make this change in the database. Close Actinic and then look in your 'Site1' folder for a file called 'ActinicCatalog.mdb'. You will need 'Access' to open the file. Open the 'Catalog Section' table and then click on 'Design' view. Against 'Section name' you should see 'Text' and below you should see a value for the field set to '50'.

One option is to increase the field size here ( note max of 255 )
The other will be to select 'Memo' instead of text as this can hold any length of text.

The default value for the field is set to 50 as certain browsers and other operating systems have issues with displaying lengthy page names. Please make sure to make a backup of the database before making any of the above changes.

I tried what you suggested, however it did not work.
One thing, you mentioned to change 'Section name'. Do you mean 'Section text' because there is no 'Section name' ?

Bruce was referring to Section text - however this is set to Memo and although it can contain more than 50 characters in the database Actinic will not allow you to do so. If you enter more than 50 characters directly into the database they are accepted but you will then get a data truncated error in Actinic.
