add to cart returns to wrong page...

I found the article below in the knowledge base, but have more info and a question about it...

Issue: Why for some buyers, does the 'Confirm Add-to-Cart', take them back to the main catalogue page instead of to previous product page?
Solution: The buyer is probably using a Firewall that is preventing the browser from sending the 'Referrer Page' URL to the server side scripts. This is known to be the case with 'Enable Browser Privacy' ticked in Norton Personal Firewall.

The site will function normally without the 'Referrer Page' URL other than the URL used when confirming Add-to-Cart or cancelling checkout.

    Ref: GC156
This also occurs with ZoneAlarm with the 'Remove private header info' option checked (which personally is about the only thing I always leave on because I've never noticed it causing any problems, unlike just about all the other options)

As Zonealarm is very popular this could potentially impact a lot of customers - and it is very annoying to be returned to the homepage every time you add something to the basket.

Therefore, is there a fix for this? If not is there a workaround? Is it possible to add the item to the cart, but not actually goto the cart view?

    Hi there.

We are aware of the issue, but there is no workaround at the moment.

ok. is there a way of changing where it goes back to? The main products page would be better than the home page...

Hmm... it should go back to the 'acatalog' folder.

Could you check that the 'Catalog URL' in the 'Advanced | Network Setup' window includes '/acatalog/' at the end.

It wasn't, so I changed it and now it has screwed it up. I updated and chose browse online and the website says -

"File Not Found - The requested URL was not found on this server. "

          Catalog URL was -

          http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial2780

          is now -

          http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial2780/acatalog/

          any suggestions?

This will not work correctly on teh trial server as when you go to the 'Base HREF' of a trial store, this takes you to the first brochure page. There is no 'acatalog' folder on the trial server.

Once you have uploaded your store to some real webspace, your store will be in the 'acatalog' folder and customers will be returned to the first page in the store after adding to cart.

You need to put your 'Catalog URL' back to 'http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial2780' in order for your trial to continue successfully.
