<BR> tags in email message

I ask customers for a message to go with their gift. However on the sales email on one of my sites the email contain extra ESC characters and <BR> tags

Any idea what setting is causing this?

Does this happen for all the emails sent from that site? If so have you compared the templates being used on one that works against this one?

I don't think its a template issue as the email template is the standard actinic one.

All I've done is to change the Other Info Propmpt to be a text box as per the AUG.

I've placed a few test orders with messages. If I press RETURN then this is displayed as %0a in the order emails. If I let the line wrap on its own then there are no %0a tags.

Ah.... I'm almost too embarissed to put this here, but...

What I'd not done was to modify the .pl file aster a recent upgrade to the text box existed, but the other code has not been changed.
