Error message too wide for page layout ...

See the image attached.

You will notice that a catalog error pops up in this grey box.
this is fine but the box is too wide and forces my page to fall apart.

How can I modify a template, which template, that detemines how this error message is displayed?

This table is coming in from Design | Text, ID: 2178 (<TABLE CELLPADDING="10" WIDTH="550" BORDER="10" BGCOLOR="black"><tr><td>%s).
You can change the dimensions here.
