Formatting the Checkout Pages .....

How can I format the checkout pages, what templates create the layouts ?

For example,

What I have at the minute.....
Checkout Page 1 - View T&C's only, no mandatory check box.
Checkout Page 2 - T&C's are listed below, and there is mandatory box.

What I would like .....
I would rather Page 2 stay mandatory but the link shows a popup of the T's and C's, instead of below?

What templates do I modify any ideas, I know the primary template, sorted that but I assume its some XML templates?

Also, is there a way of having a page tracker for customers to undertsand which stage in the checkout process they are in? Step 2 of 5, etc etc

I am happily modifying Act_Order00 through to Act_Order04 and all is going well, however I need some help locating the code or the placeholder to change what these NQV's state:

This message can be changed in Business Settings | Shipping and Handling tab

NETQUOTEDEL:PRELIMINARYINFORMATION

The preliminary information, i.e, the message :"If you want to ship the purchase....." can be modified in Design | Text, ID : 16.

OK, got it.

However, I need some more help. As I am using Digital Download there is no Shipping and Handling. So can I change the title to something more reflective of the reason for these box's which is to handle VAT?

i.e. VAT Evaluation... Country/region... etc and completely remove the

Hi Simon

You can modify the wordings for the title "Select Shipping Destination" in Design | Text ID : 171.
The different shipping address message can be changed/removed from the same ID as mentioned in my previous reply, i.e ID:16. You need to simply untick "Show", which will disable the message completely.

Can you help me with 2 more things....

1. It occurred to me that the prompt could be changed to "If you want to download the purchase to an e-mail address other than the invoice e-mail address, check this box:"
and therefore, could be useful.
However, I need to check that if I did this that the e-mail address added this way would be the e-mail address used to digitally download to instead of the Invoice e-mail?
Could you check this for me?

2. I would like to add an explanation under my newly titled "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN TAXATION CLASS", however i cannot seem to add it to Act_00.html and need to modify NETQUOTEDEL:PRELIMINARYINFORMATION , at least I think its this one? I want to explain why customers are being asked for their CofO.

I have put this on to the dev team to see if they can come up with a work-around.

Apart from editing the variables through Design | Text, it is also possible to add free text directly in the templates. Once you have ascertained where you would like it displayed, you can type in the message around that variable in the template itself.

Hi Simon

After a discussion with the dev team about this, it seems this might not be an easy thing to implement. The Invoice Address is copied to the Shipping Address if no separate shipping address is supplied.

The requirement here would then be to compare the Invoice email address with the Delivery email address and include the Delivery email address if different.
They feel it will be a more complicated process to have the emails split so that the DD link is mailed separately to the Delivery email address.

OK, thanks for asking, I'll stick with the solo option for now. Which is perfectly OK, i just thought it may be a useful avenue to look at.

All else is OK for now however I would like the Terms and Conditions to be a popup window in Act_Order01.html as it is in Act_Order00.html.

I will have a play around with this and maybe you can help me further later.
