Logged in Customers automatically logged out

If a customer is logged into the site and the system is left idle for an amount of time is there any way to log automatically log the customer out?
There has to be some way for security etc..

I'm afraid we don’t have any functionality to support an automatic logout system.

I'll pop this on the wish list.
