Customvar content length

Hi there,
We're looking into adding textareas at the bottom of certain pages on our website i.e. http://www.zuccionline.com/acatalog/...and_scott.html containing information about the brand and products to hopefully help us with our SEO.
I've tried using a CUSTOMVAR inside a textarea on the pages layout template but the amount of information we want to put inside the textareas seems to be too large for a CUSTOMVAR! If there anyway of increasing the amount of text we can put inside the CUSTOMVAR, or an alternative way of placing text inside these textareas from within actinic?
Hopefully if you get what we're trying to do and any help is appreciated!

Use 2 (or more) Customvar's and spread the text between them.

You can also put the text in Notepad, then save as a .txt file, place the file in the site 1 folder and then put the file name as the customvar and check the "filename" and "use file content" check boxes.
