    Death of Froogle?

    Hi,

I am led to beleive that Froogle is now redundant - hence so is the functionality in Actinic. Is there any plan to create a patch available for v7 users for Google Base (its replacement)?

    cheers in advance,

    Kevin.

Cheers Drounding - As a coder I should be able to knock something together quite quickly but I am lazy. If I get round to it I'll post/point to the code!

Just looked at Google Base , (for the first time), the FIELD format they want looks like:

          link
          title
          description
          image_link
          id
          expiration_date
          lables

How do you export from V7 and obtain what these FIELD's, or ones I may custom specify, ask for.

          Appreciate any help, Simon.

Jan's utility should do this or you can open the export into Excel and manually edit the titles there .. I am all in favour of manual intervention at times.

                Hi Kevin,

That is output from my Googlebase Mash I believe, you need to change some of your settings to get that feed accepted by Google, these are the two items

<g:brand>Enter a generic brand or use Custom Vars</g:brand>

<groduct_type>See list at http://base.google.co.uk/base/product_types.html. Use a comma to use multiple product types</groduct_type>

Take a look at this article in our knowledge base for more detail on how to set these up correctly.

Ah good spot Jan - I missed those options. It did accept it fine and I think you can get off with the brand if you choose one of their options e.g products.

is the brand a mandatory field?

can you leave it blank, what would you put in here if you only sold unbranded goods?
